Colorado Bend State Park

Incredible hiking trails! Scenery is so beautiful and Gorman Falls is to die for!!! Great affordable camping grounds as well!

Great primitive park. The trails are a little challenging but worth trying!

We can't wait to get back to this amazing park! We only had a few hours before sunset, so we hiked the springs trail. The water was crystal clear and beckoning. We all ended up enjoying a refreshing swim, hiking back to the parking area as the sun was setting. The whole area is beautiful, completely off the grid and silent, except for the sounds of wildlife. Being the perfect time of day (dusk), we saw countless deer, armadillo, and a few other small animals.

We look forward to our return trip with a hike to the falls, more swimming, kayaking, and camping.

**Only have composting toilets and they were pretty funky. We would rather use our primitive camping/toileting techniques than use those facilities. We also arrived after Park HQ closed so we checked ourselves in. Interpretive signage was helpful since we had no one to ask questions of.

This place is incredible. I only had a few hours so I did the Springs hike. It has a boring (short) start through some grass and trees, then turns into a beautiful area. Easy to meander in or around water tumbling over limestone. Wonderfully relaxing. I want to return and spend more time!
