“Journey back; this little town has it all”
A visit to this quaint, historic community, at the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers, is like stepping into the past. Stroll the picturesque streets, visit exhibits and museums, or hike our trails and battlefields. Known for its battles during the Civil War, the national historic park is believed to be haunted by ghosts of its past. Many apparitions have been seen here, including a well-dressed man in a brocade vest who glares in a hostile way. A woman and child believed to be the man’s wife and daughter also have been seen. Many other apparitions and phenomena have been reported here, including a whole phantom army that marches down the street. Private ghost tours are offered of the park. Spend a day or a weekend. We have something for everyone, so come and discover Harpers Ferry!
We really enjoyed our trip here. We were able to take the dog and had a really good time. We stayed in West Virginia but were in Virginia and Maryland too. A cool place that is kid and dog friendly.
Beautiful place to visit! Lots of walking... but wonderful sites. The foot bridge over the river was awesome... take a lock to hook on the chain link fence too!
We had a good time. The museums are perfect for children, they are not so big that you lose interest. We found the building at different deconstructive stages very interesting. The walking was easy and lovely.
Beautiful place to visit. We took the Maryland Heights trail to view Harpers Ferry from the cliff to watch the sunset. What an unforgettable experience!!
Very cute - nice easy walking with great views - must see when around - expect to spend 3 hours.
I love going for their live nativity and see all the Christmas decoration. I can find some unique gifts and enjoy the scenery.
Great place to walk around, cut in steps along some of the paths. Educational and beautiful.
Amazing back in time experience!
Beautiful place to drive around.
Maryland Height trail is good for all ages with beautiful overlook of Hapers Ferry and the merge of Shenandoah River and Potomac River. Will come back for a more greenish view and sunset!
