“The Finest Surf Fishing Anywhere!”
A sweeping Grand Strand beach, pristine and wide open, stands as one of the most recognizable South Carolina landmarks. Revel in sea-breeze camping, the finest surf fishing South Carolina has to offer and some of the top bird-watching on the East Coast. That’s not all Huntington Beach State Park has to offer. There are also South Carolina landmarks such as Atalaya, the picturesque, Moorish-style winter home of Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington, philanthropist and sculptor, respectively, who left the park and adjacent Brookgreen Gardens as their legacy. Nature lovers also will enjoy the park’s Nature Center and wide variety of programming, including the chance to see loggerhead turtles and other endangered plant and animal species up close. The park’s freshwater lake is a sure-fire place to see alligators and sometimes even a mink or two. Pet-friendly, but remember to use a leash!
Cost $9 to get in so we skipped it.
Atalya castle! A thing of beauty and historic!
This year was my 3rd time visiting. What a great campground. with the trails, the marsh and the beach there is plenty to do. Love this beach.
One of my favorite places!
Beautiful Park. Had a great time both times I've been there. Love that I can take my dog on the beach. The gators were cool to see too.
A true hidden gem. It's a not so busy beach, and you can camp there too. Don't forget to check out the wildlife including alligators and crabs and piers.
Stayed at Murrells Inlet and went to the beach here. I hate to tell anyone how great it is cause I love that it's not crowded! I can say the public restrooms and changing rooms are clean, not like most state parks I've been to.
