“some of the world's best preserved fossils!”

Some of the world's best preserved fossils are found in the flat-topped ridges of southwestern Wyoming's cold sagebrush desert. Fossilized fishes, insects, plants, reptiles, birds, and mammals are exceptional for their abundance, variety, and detail of preservation. Most remarkable is the story they tell of ancient life in a sub-tropical landscape.

Hard to imagine the area was once jungle like? Not so if you are a Christian and believe what God says. In Genesis he speaks of a global flood. Easily explains why fish fossils for instance are found in current desert like areas with no bodies of water anywhere near there. You either have faith in evolution which is a theory that has no scientific proof or you believe in God and what he says is true. Neither can be “proven” right or wrong so both require faith. Anyway, beautiful country.

A geological timeline of the world wraps around the building and there are tons of fossils inside. It was a nice little stop!

The visitors center is very interesting but if you don't have a 4 wheel drive you can't take the scenic route.
