Star the Reindeer is actually the seventh in a line of reindeer named Star who live downtown at the corner of 10th & I streets. Reindeer aren't native to Alaska, but have been living on the peninsula since they were imported from Siberia in 1892. Reindeer are quiet and domestic creatures, so Star takes very well to her pen donwtown and to seeing people on her walks, which occur several times a day.

I was born and raised in Anhorage, AK and I was 13 years old when I walked Star, the Alaskan Reindeer, owned by Ivan & Oro Stewart in one of the Fur Rendevous Parades. I still have the pictures of Ivan Sewart, Star and myslf!
