Naomikong Point

From Bay Mills, Michigan head west on Lake Superior Shoreline Road for 37km and park at the Shallows Day Use Area on the North side of the highway. From the parking area head straight to the water and then start hiking East along the shoreline.  At about the 1km mark hike inland through the dunes to get onto the North Country Trail so that you can cross Naomikong Creek using the suspension bridge.  After you cross the creek head back to the shore and continue hiking East.  You will come to Naomikong Island shortly after you cross the creek and then you will go around a point that faces West.  You will arrive at Menekaunee Point at the 3.7km mark.  Continue hiking East along the shore until you reach a small inlet about 400m past Menekaunee Point.  Once you reach the inlet turn around and hike back the way you came.
