“Cincinnati's newest & coolest brewery”

Rhinegeist is a brewery located in the Over The Rhine historical district in Cincinnati, OH. We brewed our first batch on June 8th, 2013 and are now open.  Rhinegeist is a brewery built within the skeleton of the old Moerlein bottling plant (built in 1895). Within these unique and historic walls, we brew 20bbl batches of beer that sings with flavor and delights us. The yin/yang of our brewing philosophy is hoppy/sessionable and we aim to brew beers where “the first sip calls for the third”.  We’re a small team with big dreams and tend to smile while we sweat. We brew those styles which are most compelling to our thirst and we certainly hope you enjoy our brews as much as we do. We self distribute our beer, which means each beer that you drink in a bar or restaurant is poured from a keg that we delivered cold in our refrigerated van (keep your eyes peeled for it around town). We like to keep beer as fresh as possible, which means that every keg we fill is immediately moved into cold storage where it sits until we load it onto our refrigerated van for delivery to the coldbox of each local account. Fresh beer is tasty beer, and that’s our favorite kind. Rhinegeist means “ghost of the Rhine”, and refers to our place here in the historic Brewery District in the Over the Rhine neighborhood of Cincinnati. At the turn of the century, this neighborhood was home to nearly 45,o00 inhabitants, most of them of German descent and 38 breweries. We hope to engender the spirit of camaraderie and hard work that we imagine those living and brewing in this neighborhood at that time embodied. Rhinegeist's tasting room on 1910 Elm Street is now open during the week...

Best brewery in Cincinnati, hands-down. If you are an IPA person, the Truth is great, and if you are more into darker beers, definitely try the Panther Porter. The atmosphere is awesome. The building used to be an abandoned factory, and the Rhinegheist crew made great use of the giant space, filled with game tables, corn hole, brew kettles, and occasionally a giant art exhibit. If you are looking for a fun evening, they throw kickball and wiffleball games INSIDE the brewery, along with beer triathlons and other fun events. If you like beer, definitely stop by.

An incredible brewery built in the original brewery district in OTR. A small taproom and bar that opens across out to long picnic tables and a game room. Was first introduced to corn hole changing. The beer is also great!

It's a great place to go with a small group, but during the summer it can get VERY hot. It's also very loud, as the fans are always on. It also doesn't help that it's in a giant warehouse with concrete walls and floors, so it's a giant echo chamber. That said, the beer is delicious, and there's lots of things to do, including corn hole and table tennis.

Love the beer, not so much the space. It's huge and yet too small at the same time, partly because of the way the tables are set up. Regardless the beer is great, and I'm not a beer person. For people who aren't fan of hoppy drinks (like me) try the Cougar, it's light and not too bitter.

While I agree with a lot of the reviews that list Rhinegeist as the best brewery in Cincinnati, it's not my favorite venue. I love their beer, but I hate the atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, the place looks overwhelmingly cool when you first pop in, but god forbid there's an event going on because two things are going to happen: 1 - Your ears are going to get destroyed from the sound echoing off of so much empty space, particularly if there's a band playing, and 2 - you're going to drip with sweat.

Their birthday celebration, held in the dead of summer, was an assault on the senses, and not in a good way.

Go here, fill up a growler with amazing craft beer, and then take it home.

I love Rhinegeist so much, and I think that if you could only go to one place in Cincinnati this should be it. It's a bar inside a brewery inside an abandoned bottling factory. How cool is that? The beer is amazing and there's cornhole, ping pong, and foosball too.

Huge ass space and pretty tasty beer... however, if you are a smoker be warned, you will have to hike up and down 3 flights of steps to get your puff on. Which is lame when the beer makes you want to smoke soo bad!

I'm not a beer drinker, so I'm glad they have some nice wines because this is a fantastic place to hang out. Plenty of large tables to sit and converse, nice ping pong tables, and some corn hole sets. You even get to sit right next to where the beer is being made.

This is a great place to hang out with your grown-up friends while the kids have loads of space to play. I highly recommend it.

Rhinegeist is cool! It's simple and spacious but doesn't lack on atmosphere. They've got quality beer and good service. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a brewery where you can relax with company. Beware that 2 beers might turn into 6 in the blink of an eye.

Good God this place (and beer) is epic! I should have shares in Rhinegeist and should be awarded a permanent ambassadorship... If a world record exists for the most Rhinegeist consumed in 2 weeks, I’d be in the running! The amber liquid produced by these geniuses is really really good, and the whole brewery experience is incredible. Well done to the folks who have put this together, it should be the model for any budding brewmasters... and if you’re visiting Cincinnati, it should be on your mini bucket list.
