“the story of the United States in an extraordinary time”
The Museum at the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum tells the story of the United States in an extraordinary time. Using artifacts, documents, photographs, and videos from the Library’s extensive collection, the 14,000 square foot Museum includes exhibits on education reform, the global war on terror, the financial crisis, and efforts to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS. The Museum features a piece of steel from the World Trade Center, a full-sized Oval Office, and a Texas Rose Garden. Interactive features in the permanent exhibition include a Decision Points Theater designed to take the visitor “inside” the decision-making process and policies developed during the Administration of President George W. Bush. The architectural signature of the Library and Museum is Freedom Hall. At a height of 67 feet, the Hall encases a one-of-a-kind, 360-degree, high definition video wall that orients visitors to the exhibit and depicts a montage of the 44 United States Presidents. Additionally, the Museum's temporary exhibit gallery as well as the main lobby cases will present a variety of exhibits that complement the permanent exhibit and illustrate themes and subjects relevant to the mission of the Library and Museum.
