“"I See What You Mean"”
Statue of a big blue bear peering into a building. The piece is called "I See What You Mean." It's a steel sculpture, encased in a fiberglass and cement composite, by artist Lawrence Argent.
This guy is MASSIVE, and good for a photo op for those who like offbeat attractions. It's also only a couple blocks off the 16th Street Mall, so it's easy to pop over to it real quick, snap a few photos, and continue exploring the heart of downtown Denver. The Big Blue Bear is not really a destination in its own right, but if you are in the area, it's worth walking over and checking it out.
He’s very cool! Go check him out!! My husband designed the building; they have reinforcements where the bear is to account for the pressure he applied to make the building safe. So obviously that is common sense, but just a note that the bear wasn’t a later add on to the building, he was a part of the design from the beginning. ;) He makes for cool photo ops.
Awesome artwork!
This was a great stop, fun to see, nice little stroll to stretch your legs after driving for awhile in the car. Kids thought it was great and loved the blue trees on the path to the bear. Very close to 16th street Mall which is also a great quick stroll with some fun interactive art.
A big blue bear. Good for a photo op.
