“a family fun tour”
Like many caverns in the Mid-Atlantic states, Indian Echo Caverns is a limestone cave. Cut through Beekmantown limestone, which is over 440 million years old, they were formed through the erosive properties of water. As time progressed, geological forces led to an "uplift" of the surrounding limestone, eventually allowing more and more water to flow through the formation. As the water flowed over the limestone, it began to create small crevices, these small crevices led to larger ones, and eventually, over a series of millions of years, it created the caverns as they are today.
My husband and I really enjoyed it, lasted about 25 minutes. It was a little chilly so bring a jacket if you like to be warm, worth the detour.
Went with my college friends on a trip to Indianapolis. Honestly, we loved it. It was very well done, the caverns were beautiful, and the price was very affordable ($18.50 for adults). The tour guides were very knowledgeable, friendly, and an appropriate level of corny. I would definitely recommend for a nice stop! Our tour lasted around forty minutes and DEFINITELY bring a jacket as its 50 degrees inside.
We had a great time. The tour was great and our kids enjoyed the Gem Junction activity and playground, too.
Geared toward children complete with the "Once upon a Time" story made up by the guides. Interesting and worth a look but not the huge caverns I was expecting. Still great attraction and worth the admission. Go to their site to print off a $1.00 off coupon for each adult and I think it was .50 for each child. I don't remember because it was just me and my husband on the trip.
Fun visit. We stopped here on a longer trip to stretch our legs and it was a good time for about an hour. There is some walking up and down to the cave, but the caves themselves were very interesting and not hard to walk through.
Surprisingly really cool. Family friendly, but even if you don't have kids, it was an awesome experience to be 90+ feet under the earth!
Fun, beautiful and good for the whole family! Daughter was 5 and loved it!
Fun place. More things to do on site for young families; which is odd because the young kids in the caverns were being loud and crying - lol. The caverns are beautiful and our guide Carter was very cool. He knew everything, kept if funny and his smart wit made it great. Not sure we need to do it again. A little costly for four adults and one hour, but it’s an experience!!
A very nice set up, reasonably priced and a good tour.
so much fun! very interesting and beautiful, my friend and i went and had a blast. the petting zoo is free as well. give this place a visit if you’re nearby.
