“Story of independence and craftsmanship”

Drop by for a firsthand look at our distillery where one of our guides will accompany you on a tour and tell you the complete story of our whiskey. And you’ll probably hear an interesting story or two about Mr. Jack as well. We hope to see you around Lynchburg sometime soon. Our tour is mostly out-of-doors and involves quite a lot of walking, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. Tours last about an hour and fifteen minutes and start anywhere from every fifteen minutes to an hour, depending on how big a crowd we have. For a nominal fee, Jack Daniel’s is now offering Distillery tours, which include a sampling of our hometown product. Be sure to ask about these enhanced tours upon arriving at the Visitor Center. Sampling tours are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis every Monday through Saturday (excluding Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, Christmas Eve, New Years Eve, and New Years Day).

What an awesome tour. We happened to stop in Lynchburg during the three week shut down of the processing plant. Every year the plant shuts down for cleaning and repair and they do not distill any Jack. :( but the tour was still very informative and worth the 150 stairs and 1/3 of a mile walk. Most of the tour is outside and operates no matter the weather so dress appropriately. The white rabbit bottle shop at the end of the tour is where you can buy a bottle of Jack. Don't forget to get it engraved to commemorate your trip. No doubt worth the drive off the interstate.

This is a nice morning or afternoon activity if you're in the area. You know those old guys they feature in their advertising? They're real. And they give the tours. I remember during the tour we were at the vats and got to take a whiff of the aroma. Our tour guide demonstrated by leaning over and scooping the air toward him and inhaling deeply. When I tried it, I took one little sniff and practically fell over! Good times.

Our tour guide “Brandy” .... took us around this famous whiskey distillery where we got to see each step in the process that Uncle Jack developed. The history and the amount of information shared with us was staggering. It was a flippin awesome experience! We even got to see the safe which Jack kicked and which ultimately killed him. I would thoroughly recommended stopping here if you are driving past. And its free! Loved every minute of it, and would not have known about this if it were not for Roadtrippers!

What an amazing stop! Well worth the 30min detour. We had our 2 kids with us and they have a "non alcohol " tour just for families. Our tour guide Lindsay was wonderful, I think my daughter wanted to stay and become a tour guide with her!!
Definitely make the stop!!!

If you want to know how make whiskey, this a great edutainment tour. There are no tastings but there is fun for the whole family. If you are coming to Nashville only once in your life, come on the tour. WARNING. Jack Daniels is about an hour, by car, outside of Nashville.

Great stop for a piece of American History. Facility tour was well done and prices were not obscene with options. This is something that should be taken when the opportunity arrives.
The employees were professional and genuinely enjoyed their jobs and the people they met every day. The tasting room was very nice, very manicured, and of course the "drinks" were perfect!

Fun to see where JD is made. Tour guide did not do a very good job of explaining the overall process, so never really understood what we were looking at as well as we could have. Ok tour though.

Yeah was a nice little visit, but since I am not a big whiskey fan it was just okay for me. It was interesting to learn about how jack daniels came around, but the smell of some of the rooms was a little much. So, come with a strong stomach. Cool you can get some engraved bottles and relax outside. Dry County though, so don't expect to drink.

This is a great place to visit if you have a spare 1.5 to 2 hours. When planning your trip, you can park directly at the visitor center or you can park at the Lynchburg, TN. town square and walk down Main Street about 1/4 mile or less, crossing a small foot bridge which brings you directly to the entrance.

Upon entering the visitor center there is a great history of Jack Daniels himself via several chronological displays within the lobby. Tours run every 15 to 30 minutes depending on how busy they are and are free of charge. The tour starts out with a short film, givnig a brief history and then takes you outside for a quick 2 minute bus ride up the hill to the Rickyard.

It is at the Rickyard where you exit the bus and the real tour begins. A guide takes each tour group (about 20 people) through the facility including the original office, the Hollow or spring where Jack Daniels gets their iron free water supply and the rest of the plant. The tour is family friendly and really very interesting. I would definitely recoomend it. No Jack Daniels is given out (Moore County is a dry county) but you can purchase commerative bottles on site that happn to have Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey in them. ;)
