“location of the town's first post offIce”
McAlester is the city with two downtowns, the current downtown of McAlester and Old Town. The Old Town Historic District was the original site of McAlester and the location of the town’s first post office. Located just north of McAlester’s current downtown, Old Town is filled with antique shops overflowing with history. A walk through the charming historic area includes the home of J.J. McAlester, the founder of the town. Visitors will want to stop in at the Whistle Stop Bistro for a quick bite.
Do not shop at JJ McAlester’s Antiques. The people that own it are criminals and heartless awful people
