“What? no, wait, seriously... what?”
Have you ever wanted to defy gravity? You could book a seat on the space shuttle, but by the time you buy a ticket, rent your space suit and drive to the launch site, you'll have well over $10 invested. For a lot less money, (free actually) you can defy gravity in Bedford County, PA. Located in the suburbs of New Paris, PA (South Central Pennsylvania)... Gravity Hill is a phenomenon. Cars roll uphill and water flows the wrong way. It's a place where gravity has gone haywire. There is no fee to venture onto Gravity Hill. It is, quite simply, a road in a remote corner of Bedford County.
I definitely took the LONG way there, but it was really cool (albeit a bit scary to get to - the back-roads are incredibly narrow, almost one-lane, with hills and curves you can't see around, and you most likely will encounter other traffic, so be careful!). My route took me by not only a herd of bison, but also a goat farm, so that was pretty fantastic to see unexpectedly.
Even after all the detours I took to find the short stretch of road where the 'magic' happens, it was still pretty darn cool to "roll uphill", even if only for a moment. If you have the time for the detour and are the adventurous type, go for it. :)
Lots of fun and very cool
it's pretty incredible
It's pretty simple to find if you go off the main road. I grew up around there and have family there.
I think we took the long way to get here, because we took a lot of dirt roads to find it. But, I should say I was glad we came because I got some great video of my kids saying "We drove 5 hours for THIS!" :)

There's obviously a reasonable explanation for the occurrences of Gravity Hill. But in case you never took physics and don't want the illusion ruined, I won't spoil it for you. Gravity Hill is WAY off the beaten path, a bit difficult to find, and only marked by spray paint on the road. But regardless, it's still pretty neat. And the "off the beaten path" part means that you really don't need to worry about oncoming traffic should you want to put your car in neutral and feel yourself roll "uphill." Bonus: the surrounding landscape (hills and farmland) is simply beautiful. Definitely worth the drive out from nearby towns on a nice summer or fall day. Also be sure to visit their website (http://www.gravityhill.com) for some laughs.
An interesting location but not worth it if its out of your way. Also little to no cell service in certain areas.
Fun and Free little pitstop, but cell service is zero.
Other cats and wr never did find a spit like this or anywhere on the road. No signs where it is, just people driving back and forth with puzzled looks
