“a natural cave behind Bridal Veil Falls at the Niagara Falls”
The world changed at Niagara Falls! Go beyond the brink and get closer to the Falls than you ever imagined at the Cave of the Winds. Plus take in the wonder and history of the Falls at the new indoor multimedia experience, the World Changed Here Pavilion, which is open year-round!
After you buy your ticket, you'll be given some sandals to wear. Put them on if you value your shoes.
The platform goes down almost by the river, and then back up past the falls. If you want to experience the waterfall up close you will love this.
The line to get down and back up moves steadily, but the two elevators can only take 15 people each.
Spectacular up-close and drenched. They give you ponchos and slippers.
The best thing we did in Niagra! It was awesome. You were actually in the falls and really got to see the power of them. The free shoes they gave you were really nice also. We wore them to maid of the mist too so if you're going to do both; go here first. If you want to take pictures, either take a go-pro or waterproof camera. If your phone is waterproof, you could use it (that's what I did). If you use your phone, I suggest a selfie stick. It lets you take pictures without really worrying about loosing your grip on your phone. We got lucky when we were there since it rained the entire day. There were no lines and we went right in. I suggest getting there at 8:30 (it opens at 9). That way you can get there to get tickets earlier then most people.
My kids and wife loved it, which was surprising. You will get wet. A one time thing, but it makes for a great memory of the Falls.
Standing in multiple lines, it reminds me of Disney. Not really worthwhile.
Amazing!! Adults and kids all found this fascinating. Well worth the money (we used our adventure pass ticket)!! You get to watch a very short film, you get sandals to keep, a plastic bag to put your shoes in, and a poncho. WEAR THE SANDALS! The seagulls were nesting when we went there so there were millions of birds, the ponchos came in handy for bird poop as well. If you're smart phone is not waterproof, at least put it in a plastic bag. You will not stay dry.
This is a must do!! If we had to choose cave of the winds or maid of the mist, we would say cave of the winds, simply because you get to choose how long they stay there. But in our opinion, the adventure pass is the way to go.
Lots of fun. You will get soaked! Wear the sandals they give you so you have dry shoes after. There is no cave. You take an elevator down then you climb up stairs and walk right up to the falls.
