“Groundhog Day Town!”
February 2 - Groundhog Day - Gobbler's Knob - Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, USA
Punxsutawney is a quaint small town. There is not a lot of great local lodging, but we enjoyed seeing the town were Phil predicts the weather each February. We grabbed a couple of photos of the various painted groundhogs that are dotted around town and saw the giant plywood groundhog as well!
Cute little spot to see, even if it's not Groundhog Day. Don't expect the scenes from the movie (as the movie was not actually filmed here). Gobbler's Knob is in the middle of nowhere, but the town of Punxsutawney is not far and pretty cute.
How fun! We learned a lot about Phil and the history of Groundhog Day.
