“hiking desert to canyon to river”
One of the easier trails in Big Bend Ranch State Park, it is one of the most beautiful as well as your footsteps lead from the desert heat into a cool, shady canyon of smooth stone before leading to the Rio Grande.
This is an interesting short hike, can be hot from April to October. Avoid attempting to hike it during a thunderstorm! A flash flood will wash one out to the Rio Grande!
This was the most beautiful trail! We had to stop at a pool of water because we didn't want to get wet, but there are people who went past it... Absolutely spectacular and a must do!
