“Perfect for Rose enthusiasts!”
Adjacent to the Woodland Park Zoo the Rose Garden is one of only two dozen certified American Rose Test Gardens in the United States. At its picturesque best from May through August, the garden displays new rose hybrids before they become available to amateur rose enthusiasts. Established by Park Board in 1922, “This civic rose garden made possible by efforts of the Lions Club and is dedicated to rose lovers of Seattle.” The garden is maintained by the Woodland Park Zoo society.
This is my favorite park to hang out under a tree and read a book. In the summer there's a little old-school soda stand just outside the entrance so grab a drink and claim your favorite tree!
