“An Enchanted Miniature Land of Yesterday and Tomorrow”
Roadside America is an unforgettable panorama of life in rural United States. The exhibit spans more than two hundred years in time and lets you see, in exquisite miniature, how people lived and worked in pioneer days … through the years since then … right up to the present. In newspapers and magazines, ROADSIDE AMERICA has been acclaimed as the greatest known miniature village—the most unique and detailed masterpiece of its kind in the world. Comprised of not one, but many villages, the display depicts the countryside as it might be seen by a giant so huge that he could see from coast to coast.
This was a neat little thing to stop and see on our road trip. The cost was less than $7 which I thought was appropriate. They have a neat little show where they dim the lights, and the stars on the ceiling shine and there's a voice over and music. It's located near some Amish communities, so when we visited, there was a large Amish family visiting as well. It was a great cultural experience. There is also a nice gift shop.
Loved it! 30 min $6.95 a person. Really cool!
Interesting.
It was cute but you better like children if you go there. There are a ton of them and most of the parents aren't paying attention to them so they run you over. The night you was cute as well.
Cute place for the family. Like stepping into the 50s.
Got to stop on the way home from The Smokey Mountains. It was really awesome. The first words out of my mouth when the door opened was 'holy crap'. I would like to see it again someday.
It’s permanently closed now. :(
This was an amazing little destination, but unfortunately as of the end of 2020 it has been closed and the parts are being auctioned off.
This was a great place to stop. Entertaining for me and my teenage boys and not far off the highway. It was a little musty inside but village was so cool it didnt matter. Theres a hex sign gift shop next door as well.
We loved this place...definitely worth a stop! My 13 and 10 year old daughters got a kick out of all the detail and how patriotic it was!
