“Presidential Library in West Branch, IA”
Presidential library and museum for U.S. President Herbert Hoover, located in West Branch, Iowa
This Presidential Liberty, grave site and small village area provides great insights into this President and his term! He was a great humanitarian to the world! This is a worthwhile spot if you want to learn about this man. A lot of reading, but well done indeed! Enjoyed it...and spent about 2 1/2 hours here!
Being from Iowa we have to admit - going into the Herbert Hoover Library we knew little to nothing about our 31st president. What an eye opening visit we had! We had no idea all he had accomplished before and after his time in office. It should be mandatory for all Iowan school children to visit the Herbert Hoover Library and Museum. The final resting places of President Hoover and his wife Lou are serene and beautiful. We opted to walk from the little recreated Quaker streets in the park - it's a tad of a hike uphill but worth the view and beautiful resting places. If you're from Iowa or anywhere for that matter - it's worth a drive to West Branch to learn about Herbert Hoover and visit this park.
We had a lot of fun here. I agree that it was well worth the admission. Going in, all we knew about Herbert Hoover was that he was a President. That's it. Walking away we are really impressed with Herbert Hoover the man and his accomplishments!
Well worth the admission price. We toured the nearby site then the Museum & Library . When we began neither my husband nor I knew anything about Mr. Hoover. We both walked away with a ton of information but also a real idea of the man himself. Amazed at his life and his character. The exhibits where all well designed, lots of variety among them: visual, audio and even some things to touch. You get the opportunity to even hear Mr. Hoover talk through old radio and recorded speeches. Go! It is a lovely site, well appointed and beyond informative
I did not expect this to be as huge if a site as it is. We only stretched out legs for half an hour, sad to miss the many thing to see.
Nice presidential library and beautiful grounds. Knowledgeable staff. We learned a lot.
A worthwhile stop. In addition to interesting exhibits about Herbert Hoover's early life and work on behalf of refugees, it has a little town you can walk through to see life what life was like when he grew up. There's even a working blacksmith shop with a blacksmith
Fabulous attraction - must stop and see!
Very nice. Liked the free visitors center by the National Park Service too.
